World Food Programme

As a part of the humanitarian branch of the United Nations which handles food-assistance programs, the WFP is the world's largest organization addressing hunger. with relief programs focused on providing food assistance for those who cannot obtain or produce enough food to feed themselves or their families, the World Food Programme's ultimate goal is to eradicate hunger and malnutrition globally, even striving to end the need for food aide entirely.  

They Reach an average of 80 million people in nearly as many countries and have a number of initiatives focused on food-aide, food-for-work and school feeding programs, as well as initiatives to improve maternal health, fight malnutrition by preventing micronutrient deficiencies and to combat diseases such as HIV and AIDS.

RAINN - Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network

As the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense.

In addition to this invaluable resource, RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is a nonprofit that is the largest single provider for reproductive health services in the U.S.  These health services include access to birth control, long-acting reversible contraception, emergency contraception, cervical cancer screening, pregnancy testing & pregnancy options counseling, abortion services, testing and treatment services for sexually transmitted infections and other basic health services and screenings.

NOW - National Organization for Women Foundation

The National Organization for Women is an american Feminist organization that works to promote the equality of women nationwide via political and social initiatives. 

NOW Foundation is NOW's 501(c) (3) organization devoted to achieving full equality for women through education and litigation.  the foundation focuses on a broad range of women’s rights issues, including economic justice, pay equity, racial discrimination, women’s health and body image, women with disabilities, reproductive rights and justice, family law, term paper help, marriage and family formation rights of same-sex couples, representation of women in the media, and global feminist issues.

Heifer International

Ever heard the Proverb "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."?

In an adaptation of this idea, Heifer International is a global nonprofit dedicated to the eradication of poverty and alleviation of hunger by gifting livestock animals to individuals and communities in need.  Paired with the hands-on animal husbandry education required to care for these animals, they are able to make a huge impact in the self-sufficiency of individuals and families in these impoverished communities.  By having their recipient families then pass on any future animal offspring and education to another family in need within their community, the beneficial impact of these donated animals is multiplied.
